Escape
Escape is what I tried to do today,
And so I thought I could do it, I would not post
Anything today, but then the guilt got to me,
I knew I had to stop avoiding things I could say.
But still the words were evasive, and so I went visiting to read,
What others had written, what they had posted, what they had to say.
I still wanted to flee from writing and still had nothing on my mind,
So I thought and thought and then still nothing, not even a little seed.
All my thoughts were being elusive and had absconded from my mind.
So I continued to read and write some comments here and there,
Dodging the ABC's and the Rhymes for this Wednesday,
I went to visit them, still I searched and no thoughts could I find.
I knew I was eluding the inevitable and I would give in tonight,
But the words were still deserting my brain, all the words had flown away.
I finally found the E and the rhymes had retreated, faded out,
And so with the departure of my thoughts, this is all I could write.

Mrsupole, pish-tosh! No worries and didn't I tell you to rest that arm? Hoping it is mending well :)
ReplyDeleteHi subby,
ReplyDeleteAnd yes you did so that is why I only write a few here and a few there. Plus I rest a lot between writing. But I wanted to keep on a roll with Rhyming Wednesdays and then it is fun to blend it with the ABC's, it is like I got two posts for one.
Anyway going to be and will visit later unless I cannot sleep then, back up again and try to comment and then back to sleep again I hope. After PT days it is a lot more painful and so tonight was painful. But the ice packs help a lot.
God bless.
Agree with Subby... you should be resting the arm. How is it today?
ReplyDeletehopeyou find your rest today and some of the pain subsides. yes there is possibly reason to celebrate. Gods got some work to do with our house for it to happen. sometimes when we try the hardest the words slip through our fingers like sand. rest well. see you soon.
ReplyDeleteE is such a funny letter. You did so well with it but, somehow, you weren't able to escape writing. Fun.
ReplyDeleteHello, Mrsupole!
ReplyDeleteIt appears you're on the mend and feeling a bit better than you were the last time I visited. I read your piece about being an old clunker and laughed so hard my radiator almost leaked!
The cats are fine; I am trying to straighten out a medication issue and get some other paperwork and things done.
I hope you continue to mend and thanks for the neme with the letter "E."
E
Never feel guilty! I would rather see you healthy first! Then Posting!
