Ingredients:
1 whole turkey
1 large lemon, cut into halves
Salt and pepper to taste
Butter or olive oil, whichever you prefer
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Rub butter or oil over the skin of the turkey until it is completely coated.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper and any other seasonings you prefer.
Take a knife and gently separate the skin from the breast meat;
Slide lemon halves under the skin with the peel side up, one on
Each side. This way the juice from the lemon will release into the breasts.
Cover and bake for 30-45 minutes per pound. Cover and continue
To roast until juices run clear, basting every 15-20 minutes.
If you've followed these steps correctly, your turkey should
Look like the one in the picture.
Bon Appetit!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all who celebrate and to all a great Thursday.
PS....This is a recipe I received and figured it was one that should be shared. I hope you all enjoy it as much as my hubby did.

smiles. hope you have an amazing thankgiving with your family! hope that the pain is behind you or at least lessening...because you are one that i am thankful for.
Haha . . .looks funnier than 'beer can' chicken where you shove a can of beer up its . . oh never mind!
OH! I am so going to make this sometime for a gathering. My group of family and friends will get a kick out of it.
Have a joyful and pain free holiday with your family. Do you have to cook or will someone take care of that for you?
lol....looks a bit too sexy to eat!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well old friend. I disappeared yet again, but have come back to find your acquaintance again. May the holiday season find you and yours well.
Hi Brian,
Thank you so much, and yes, we went to my sister's for Thanksgiving. It was really wonderful and even though some in the family were missing, it was still great to see everyone there.
But sadly the pain just does not seem to go away. Tonight was like someone was stabbing a knife in my shoulder. I thought I was going to pass out for a while there. Am doing a little better now.
Please give your family a big wonderful Happy Thanksgiving hug from me. And the hug you get back is for you from me. I am so thankful for you too.
I hope you all had a wonderful day too.
God bless.
Hi Baino,
I remember the first time I saw a picture of beer can chicken and I was LOL, but then I have since heard that it is some of the best chicken that there is to eat. I think that if someone were to do this to a chicken/turkey along with cooking it on a beer can then it would probably taste pretty good. If I actually cooked whole birds then maybe I would try this.
God bless.
Hi Ronda,
Oh my, I would so want to see a video of you doing this. The prep and then the serving of it to your family. That would be so funny. I can just imagine someone actually opening up a barbeque or a smoker with some chicken or turkey looking like this.
I am so lucky to go to my sister's for TG and all I had to do was make an Orange Jello Salad to bring. Hubby had made a fruitcake with very little of the "fruit". I think he should have called it a nutcake. It mostly had nuts in it. But then the Kitchen Aid Mixer did most all of the work. If you do not own one of these, I would totally tell you to get one. I just wish I had gotten one sooner.
One of my sisters wants to do a cookie exchange for Christmas and I will let Granddaugter help me with that. She mixed the Orange Jello Salad for me. She has been helping me a lot. This trying to not take any pa*n p*lls really sucks. But I do not want to become addicted to them and so I am back to one a day so I can try at least to sleep.
Even though I am not taking PT sessions right now, I have to keep doing the PT exercises every day. And they still hurt. I saw where Dana was talking about going swimming for PT exercises and I knew there was no way I would be able to swim right now. So I have been doing what I call "air swimming" exercises. And they hurt.
I hope you had a fantastic day and got to visit with family and friends. Great Thanksgiving wishes coming your way.
God bless.
Hi PC,
I know what you mean, I am not sure if I would even be able to cut a piece off with a straight face. I think it puts a whole other meaning on turkey or chicken breast meat. But I do like lemon chicken, yummy.
Oh and have you tried the peppermint bark from Costco. Oh my goodness that is so good. I love dark chocolate and then peppermint to boot. The grandkids are snagging it all from me. I am oh so gonna have to hide it from them.
Happy Thanksgiving.
God bless.

Glad to hear that you had a good Thanksgiving but sorry to hear that you still have so much pain. Hoping you feel better soon and can enjoy the long weekend.

Goodness Gracious Girl!
There's enough breast meat for everyone!
And thank you for visiting my dusty blog. I miss my blogger community.
How is your shoulder coming along? My own shoulder hurts, but in a recovery-way, if you know what I mean. I'm still at PT, but only once a week because I simply don't have the time.
(hugs)
I said it before and I'll say it again: waaay ahead of you up here in Canada!
Phew, I truly am glad that I am a vegetarian just now - looking at that photo of yours...
