Do you remember Clara?
Clara was in Wendy's commercials always asking Where's the Beef? It was a very successful campaign for Wendy's. So much so that anyone who saw those commercials still remembers them to this day. They have a new young guy asking the same questions in their commercials now.
Now I am not really a big meat eater but last week I cooked up a tri-tip steak we bought at Costco. It was one that is in a package already marinated and all you have to do is put it in a pot and cook in the oven for an hour, take it out, let it sit for a bit.
Hubby got home late from work so I was not sure if we would even eat it.
He was hungry and so he made two steak sandwiches and used about half of it. I then sliced off a piece and ate it. Oh my, it was so good. Moist and juicy, another piece, wow, another piece. Not sure how many pieces I ate but pretty soon there was only a small piece left. I had not even cooked any veggies to go with it. Nothing. Just the steak, not even making a sandwich. Who was this person? I did not even know her.
For the next two days, I left the piece in the fridge in case hubby wanted more, then hubby worked late another night and that piece called my name. I ate half and saved the rest for hubby, but then latter on it kept calling. Gone in a few minutes.
Hubby finally asked for it tonight. Uh, I ate it. He said, "The whole piece that was left?" Uh, well it was rather good. He just shakes his head.
Funny thing is that I just want to go to Costco and buy another one. Normally I would rather eat pastries or fruit and veggies. Meat is not the major part of my meal and usually it is chicken that I eat.
So I am thinking that when I go to Costco tonight, my first thought is going to be; "Where's the Beef?
