I am so glad to see that you are posting again and hope that means that you are on the mend even though you still have a long, long way to go. I hope that the pain level stays down and by the way, the doctor giving you that for a year is SOP with the surgery you had and the length of time it takes to completely heal.

My thoughts and wishes for sleep and lessening of pain for you are with you daily

My animation issue is unfixable... But linking works, so that's ok.

I cleaned the whole house for the cat/ house sitters. I am so thankful that they'll keep an eye on my roomies and the place. Suitcases are dusted off and airing out just now. Gotta finish all the food that's left and we'll be on our way! 2 more sleeps!

Good to see you blogging and I'm sorry to hear how awful your pain has been. I never said anything prior to the surgery nor do I think anyone should warn anyone else because it may not be true for that person. kinda like childbirth. my husband had the surgery 3 yrs ago and was a wreck for weeks. I figured it was because he's a man and they always whine. I guess I was wrong. So I am sorry for the terrible pain. Keep your chin up. Looks like a pretty cute chin dating back to the Sixties. Those were the days.

I'm sorry you're still having such a time. I'm doing a lot better - still have daily pain & still wake up with a lot of pain (my arthritic hip has decided to join the chorus), but I wake up because I gotta GO, not because of the pain so I think I must be MUCH milder than you. Sorry.

When I can't sleep I imagine what I would do if I win the lottery - by the time I've given a sizable donation to my church & set up trust funds for my nephews & niece I'm asleep. I guess that's sort of like counting your sheep before they hatch...

I too have curly hair, it's getting more wavy now that I am growing it out. I don't mind it. Some are curly, some are straight so just be happy with what you've got is what I'm thinking.
But do tell me: how do you use OJ cans to straighten your hair?! Do you heat them up? I'd love to know.

As for the sleeping issue: have you tried Melatonin? There are two different kinds: one that helps you go to sleep and one that keeps you sleeping. You can buy it at health food storesSt. John's Wort might help with general miserableness.

My goodness, I had no idea that this surgery was so severe! For a while I thought that something went wrong - but I didn't want to share that notion with you to not upset you.
What an ordeal. :( How did you injure your shoulder?

Mom is in the same boat( we go to the doc again to-day for an emergency "conference" ). Even the toughest pain-killers do not work. Hoping to get a post up, anon.
